World’s Largest Pool in Chile!

World’s largest pool in in Chile!
If you like doing laps in the swimming pool, you might want to stock up on the energy drinks before diving in to this one.
It is more than 1,000 yards long, covers 20 acres, has a 115-foot deep end, and holds 66 million gallons of water.
The Guinness Book of Records has named the vast pool beside the sea in Chile as the biggest in the world.
But if you fancy splashing out on one of your own — and you have the space to accommodate it — then beware: this one took five years to build, cost nearly 1 billion, and the annual maintenance bill will be 2 million.
The man-made saltwater lagoon has been attracting huge crowds to the San Alfonso del Mar resort at Algarrobo, on Chile ’s southern coast, since it opened last month.

Hitch Hike Europe with HitchHikers.org!
0 Comments Published by max May 15th, 2008 in Travel Europe, Travel Info.Next time you are in Europe, you can “reserve” a hitch hike ride over at Hitchhikers.org. Not that I tried it and probably won’t due to so many horror movies I’ve seen where hitchhikers end up dead, this might be a good source for you if you are truly out of money and would like to risk your life in a foreign country.
Lol, but this could be a good source for hitching a ride if you live in Europe already.

Istanbul’s 7-Story Underwater Hotel to Open in 2010
0 Comments Published by max May 6th, 2008 in Hotels.
A 7 story hotel will open in Istanbul, Turkey within the next 2 years. Wow, this might start a whole thread of new underwater hotels and maybe even fork out to new underwater cities.
Visitors to Istanbul will soon have a chance to view the most spectacular ocean views on the planet. A seven floor, seven-star hotel is being built underwater on what was formerly a tobacco factory. There will be exhibition halls, and restaurants, and all rooms will be sea facing.
This isn’t the first such underwater hotel complex in the world. That honor goes to the $500 million Poseidon Hotel which is currently being built off Fiji. The Istanbul hotel differs in that it is being built under the city center, which should make for an interesting experience.

Dog Bark Inn and Other Weird Hotels…
0 Comments Published by max May 6th, 2008 in Hotels, Travel Info.
Ha, this is definitely the funniest looking hotel I’ve seen in awhile. I bet they even let you have dogs stay there.
I’m not sure what else there is to see in Cottonwood Idaho, but this place surely is tops on the list. The owners (dog lovers – can you tell?) built the world’s largest beagle to be the bed & breakfast joint for you to write home about. It’s a friendly looking dog and all, but I can’t help but be reminded of the Trojan Horse. At the very least, it brings new meaning to “sleeping in the dog house”.
