Airlines are charging ridiculous amounts of money for carrying your surfboards. At $300, you’d probably better off buying a new one or at least rent one.

imageSurfers are being gouged by many airlines when they travel with their boards, and, rightfully, they’re pissed. “The charges have gotten so gnarly that some professional surfers are calling for a boycott of airlines that have high fees and are putting out their own personal lists of surfer-friendly carriers that wave riders should patronize,” writes Peter Pae in the Los Angeles Times. Among the airlines surfers are calling out: Delta, Continental and United. Each charges a minimum of $115 for domestic flights, and up to $300 for international trips.

Scoring a great deal on plane tickets is only one of the challenges air travelers face these days. Unbearably long security lines, bumped flights, lost luggage and congested air traffic are commonplace. While we may not be able to control homeland security or overbooked flights, we are able to share with you some of our secrets for finding cheap airline tickets. Read below for 30 places where you can land a great deal on your next flight.

  • Farecast: This website has predicting airfare trends down to a science. Their fare prediction tool “shows if the lowest fare is rising or dropping over the next seven days for the specific dates and cities searched.” Travelers are given the option of buying now or waiting until the fare drops to purchase tickets.

Come to think of it, I believe most passengers do have to fight for their Armrest on Air. Of course, it’s always better to be nice to each other but with some people, you gotta tell them, “Get the Fu** off my armrest bi*ch”. Sad but true.

Some of us have invisible signs on our foreheads that say a variety of things like, “please give me the crappiest table in the restaurant” or “I know there are 1000 cars in your lot but would you please put in me another tan Ford Taurus”. I have read stories in magazines about people who get seated next to a long, lean, leggy supermodel on a flight and have a romantic connection leading to a lusty liaison in some alpine villa. Well the sign I have on my head is “if you weigh over 400 pounds and smell like micro waved herring, please sit next to me”. I have long given up hope of having the seat next to me empty, now I spend the boarding process in a series of prayers to various gods to please, please, please don’t let that be the guy or gal sitting next to me as I watch sasquatch walking down the aisle.

Lol, this is ridiculous, you cannot control what people watch through the internet. I’d say get another job if you don’t want to be bothered with people’s freedom.

Leaders of the Association of Professional Flight Attendants, which represents some 19,000 workers including American Airlines flight attendants, asked American Airline’s management this week to consider adding filters to its in-flight Wi-Fi access to prevent passengers from viewing porn and other inappropriate Web sites while in-flight.
American Airlines is one of several airlines testing in-flight Internet access as a way to lure more passengers. American has been offering the service on a limited basis since August 20th on some flights between New York, Los Angeles, and San Francisco, and between New York and Miami. The cost of the service on cross-country flights is $12.95, and it’s $9.95 on the New York to Miami route.

    Luxury Air

Luxury air is what best describes Japan Airline’s (JAL) new suite. Designed by London-based James Park Associates (JPA), it features a 19-inch display, “a large side shelf, literature pockets and a laptop power point.” Click here for first picture in gallery.

“The console features stowage spaces for bags and small items, whilst the ottoman can be used as a seat, should the passenger choose to dine with a partner.” The best part is you get to sleep like a normal human and slobber on your pillow as opposed to all over your shoulder.

This one is kind of common sense but for those stupid fat people who like to sleep with their head resting on their neighbor and snore, this is the perfect guide.

When traveling by air, you’re sometimes forced to rub elbows
(literally) with people you don’t know. In close quarters and for
extended periods of time, a little consideration can go a long way.
To make a flight as smooth as possible for both yourself and others
(and to avoid dirty looks) practice airplane etiquette as follows.
