This should never happen in hotels especially as there are so many diverse travelers out there.

AVOID THIS HOTEL, they are probably racist too.

The Eyre Square Hotel in the town has been hit with a €3000 fine after an Irish Equality Tribunal found that the hotel discriminated against two gay men.

Peter McGuffin and Enda Harte had organized a social event for gays at the hotel in 2005. Having used hotels owned by the same person as the Eyre Square for similar events in the past, they had no reason to believe that there would be an issue.

Here’s a good review of the JW Marriott Hotel in South Korea.

In 2007 I stayed at the JW Marriott Seoul for one night during a layover between Singapore and San Francisco.  I had one frustrating experience but otherwise the stay was excellent.

Here’s a new concept of portable hotels.

How’s this for an extension of small space living away from home? Abilmo temporary hotel rooms are portable accommodations that offer all the amenities of a regular hotel room, but in footprint of a large tool shed. Features include wood flooring, a pop-up desk with lamp, full size bed, heating/cooling options, and a bathroom with toilet and shower…

Here’s a cool underwater hotel being built in Dubai.
clipped from www.alltraveltips.com

Currently under construction in Dubai, Hydropolis is the world’s first underwater luxury hotel. It will include three elements: the land station, where guests will be welcomed, the connecting tunnel, which will transport people by train to the main area of the hotel, and the 220 suites within the submarine leisure complex.

This will be a hotel where those who do not dive - or do not even swim - can experience the tranquillity and inspiration of the underwater world.

Here’s a green hotel in San Francisco if you are eco-conscious.
clipped from feelgoodstyle.com

The Orchard Garden Inn claims to be San Francisco’s “Purely Green Hotel,” and as a one of the only LEED certified hotels in the country, I would say it’s off to a good start. Wanting to support such eco-minded entrepreneurs, I checked out the boutique hotel this weekend.

Here’s a sand hotel, too bad it’s very short-lived.
clipped from www.eyecatchypics.com

The world’s first sand-hotel is open for business on Weymouth beach, Dorset, in England. The 1000 tone-of-sand structure was built in a week by a team of 4 sand-sculptors and is only expected to last until it rains…which, as you probably know, happens quite often in Britain. The sand hotel has no roof, so you have a clear view of the star-filled night sky, no toilets and is not recommended for those that hate getting sand between their toes.  The price is 21$ per night.
