El Calafate is a once in a life experience to see multiple gorgeous glaciersthe ice age isn’t completely over yet. Also, you can explore deep into caves to discover cave drawings from thousands of years ago. Here’s some great photos of Peru, one of the better ones I’ve seen in awhile.
clipped from blog.geckogo.com
Can countries be photogenic? Here’s why I ask: I love taking pictures, but certainly wouldn’t consider myself a good photographer by any means - I know nothing about lighting, shutter-speeds, or aperture settings and I usually just play with the buttons on my digital camera until the photos I take start looking nice on the display screen. Yet I was consistently able to take good photos during my trip to Peru. Subsequent trips revealed that it didn’t have anything to do with me, so the only way I can explain it is to point the finger at Peru itself. I’ve basically concluded that certain countries are just more photogenic than others - and that in the world of landscape and people photography Peru must be a reigning supermodel. Check out some of the amateur photos I took while visiting the country:

Because of the high altitudes in Peru, you might want to take some of this advice before you go.
clipped from www.machupicchu-inca.com
I know you are worried about this altitude sickness. You are thinking how far you can go up and how to acclimatize! You will find different people will suggest you differently. Even some people will say, ‘ nothing happened to me, so don’t believe these rumors.’  I remember when I was going to Machu Picchu some body told me not to climb 1000 ft a day to escape altitude sickness. Now Cusco is at an altitude of 11500 ft. I have to be in Cusco to reach Machu Picchu. And as I did not have much time I needed to reach Cusco by plane. If I move up only 1000 ft a day, then I have to wait 11 day before I reach Cusco. Which is not practical. Then there are lot of people who told me nothing happened to them, though they reach Cusco by plane, in few hours. So what to conclude from all these information above! Sorry don’t reach any decision yet. Get some information from below, then plan your journey.

Ummm….yummy, tacos and burritos are the shi*!

Here’s a quick guide on Mexican Food.

Tasty tostadas in Playa del Carmen.

Typical set of salsas in one of Playa del Carmen's excellent taquerias.

Juicy shredded pork cooked with Yucatecan flavor - cochinita pibil!
Tacos al pastor, with a slice of pineapple - a real favorite!Lets
get this one out of the way first. The Castillian definition of the word taco
includes many meanings, among them wedge, plug, cue and
ramrod. No doubt the conquistadors and colonists of New Spain lent this
name to the generic food style eaten by the indigenous people of Mexico. The
taco most Westerns are used to, that hard U-shaped shell filled with seasoned
ground beef, lettuce, yellow cheese, and sour cream, is NOT Mexican and you
will not find that here, unless you find a restaurant serving American food.
This type of taco is Tex-Mex style. The taco you will be served here is a corn
tortilla (they are soft by definition) with some beef, pork, chicken or seafood
as filling. You simply give it a slight roll between thumb and index finger
and fire it into the mouth.
