Styles of waterfalls include tiered, cascades, horsetails or single drops (plunges). Some larger waterfalls contain multiple styles, showcasing cascades, tiers and even horsetails in one amazing waterfall.

I have to admit to driving by Big Sur on Highway 1 on the way from Los Angeles to my home in San Francisco.  Next time I get a chance, I will have to pay a visit to this awesome land of nature.  Apparently, it’s very beautiful.

El pais grande del sur, or the big country to the south is how Big Sur was first described by Spanish settlers from the Monterey area. It is one of those rare places that is wild and remote, yet easy to access and explore.

For the ultimate cruise experience without the risks of ocean-bailouts, you will need to check out this Queen Elizabeth Hotel in Turkey which is made up of a regular cruise ship without the engine.

remember the boat-shaped shopping centre that was doing the rounds a few weeks ago? i’ve found something similar, but bigger. it may be a gimmick but it makes for some great photos.

all i know about this beast is that it’s a 325 room hotel (land-based). it’s been built to look like a cruise ship, it cost around us$50m to build, it’s called the ‘queen elizabeth hotel’ and it can be found between the turkish towns of kemer and antalya. unfortunately it also doesn’t exist yet on google maps. have any of you people stayed there? if so, does the manager dress like the captain of an actual ship?
