| Although I’m a filipina by origin, I’ve only ever been to the Philippines once - and that was to a luxury island resort. So I asked my VA - Alfa Mercado - to put this post together for me. |
| Here’s what she has to say about the Phillipines as a possible destination for your location independent life… |
| If you’re one of the lucky few whose job entails plenty of traveling to places all over the globe - or you’re a location independent web worker, the you might find that the Philippines is a worth stop over. |

Here’s some weird French laws you might want to know before going to France.
In Paris, it is illegal to walk with your hand up a woman’s skirt, but while you’re on the Metro you may legally touch breasts. (No word on whose breasts they’re talking about here - could be you’re allowed to only touch your own.)
In Paris, an ashtray is considered a deadly weapon. (I think that should be especially true if it’s one of these tacky Eiffel Tower ashtrays.)
In France, it is illegal to kiss on railways. (Something tells me this law gets broken in France - a lot.)
In France, 70% of the music on the radio must be by French artists between the hours of 8am and 8pm. (Whose job is it to check this, I wonder? That’d be a cushy gig.)

Lol, this is ridiculous, you cannot control what people watch through the internet. I’d say get another job if you don’t want to be bothered with people’s freedom.
| Leaders of the Association of Professional Flight Attendants, which represents some 19,000 workers including American Airlines flight attendants, asked American Airline’s management this week to consider adding filters to its in-flight Wi-Fi access to prevent passengers from viewing porn and other inappropriate Web sites while in-flight. |

Boy, I remember the days when I just graduated from college and couldn’t get a job even with my 3,000 submissions to ideal regular desk jobs in the bay area. Well, I did consider teaching English abroad back then but did end up with an engineering job in South Korea.
I would highly recommend to go teach English abroad for those of you just graduating college because you will learn so much about another culture and get to be on your own, at least during the course of teaching abroad.
Better yet, you might be able to make some big bucks if you have an English or teacher’s degree.
Here’s are some sources to get you started.

Although not in mass productions yet, the concept wrist mounted translator might do you a lot of good when traveling foreign countries.
Derby University design graduate Amin Ismail, born in Iraq, landed a job with CDS after designing the prototype for the AHKY - Arabic for ’speak’ - a wrist mounted verbal translation device to help soldiers and uniformed civilians interpret key foreign phrases in emergency situations.
