Well, for those of you coming from other countries or other parts of America, you need to know that it’s a common courtesy to tip Vegas drivers well. (or any other metropolitan Taxi drivers)

Unlike restaurants, you need to tip them at least a dollar if you want to give them a tip.

If you are going to give 30 cents, you will probably get a Devil’s receipt like this guy. If you are going to do that, you might as well not tip at all.

During a visit to Las Vegas last year my cab driver was in a pissy mood.  I
asked him why and he said his last fare gave him a 30 cent tip on a
$9.70 meter to make an even $10 and then asked for a receipt.  So he
wrote her a receipt.  On a napkin.  With a frowning devil face. He said she
threw it back at him.  He cheered up a bit after I asked if I could
take a picture of it:

If you are traveling to Las Vegas any time soon, you might want to learn how to get discounted nightclub tickets.

It’s easy to do, simply look for people (most of them Mexican) who are handing out nightclub flyers on the main strip.

If you ask them if they have any specials for the upcoming weekend or night, they can sell you discounted coupons which will usually get you $20-$50 off the usual entrance fee.

There, there’s a simple tip for your next Las Vegas outing.

Gamble. Most of the places on the
Strip will have $5 minimums for craps and card games. There are very few bad places to play, but if
you want to gamble on the cheap, you need to go downtown, where you can find $1
and $2 minimums. My favorite spot to
gamble is the Las Vegas Club, where you can gamble very cheaply, especially in
the wee hours of the morning when they have 25-cent crap games; you can also
get a plastic football filled with your favorite alcoholic beverage. Their coffee shop/diner on the second floor
has good late-night specials as well. On

all-you-can-eat buffets at home, but for whatever reason they’re a
quintessential part of the Vegas experience.

Interesting Story on Flying without an ID!

Here’s an interesting story about flying on the airplane without an ID.  I guess you do need an ID for flying but in case you lose your wallet or whatnot, you might want to consider reading this story to find out what happens.

I last saw my wallet on Monday, August 4, 2008 at the FedEx counter in Cambridge, where I dropped it into the envelope marked “Las Vegas, Nevada.” On Wednesday around 4PM, I arrived at Boston Logan airport without my wallet.

Without an ID, JetBlue’s All Services line was my only hope for checking bags. The long line moved interminably slowly. A JetBlue representative with long blonde hair moved down the line, talking to
each passenger.

World\'s Largest Water Fountain Show coming to Dubai!

It looks like Dubai is preparing for the biggest water fountain show in the world.

No big water fountain show will ever eclipse Las Vegas Bellagio’s water show due to its popularity unless they make Oceans Fourteen in Dubai.
