The capital of Liguria – birthplace of pesto and Christopher Columbus, and the original driving force behind Italian football – deserves to be considerably better known than it is. Perhaps it’s this ancient port’s earthy atmosphere that puts the tourists off, or maybe it’s just that in Italy they are spoilt for choice. The World Cup last year was fantastic for Italy. Always, I want to go to Europe, and I would love to visit some where in Italy like the (Riviera del Brenta - Venice).

The Brenta Riviera is made up of districts and green spots along the ancient course of a river linking Padova to Venice. This was the ideal extension of Venice onto the mainland, almost a continuation of the lagoon city: between the 16th and 18th centuries the Brenta Riviera experienced a golden age which turned it into a privileged holiday resort for rich Venetian nobles.
