Smapping is the process of taking a digital photograph of a map that you won’t have access to later, except if you take a snap of it.

The sacred district has the most significant and ma sites of the complex. Walking from the Temple of the Sun towards Huayna Picchu, you arrive at the Principal Temple (PT on the map). This three sided temple boasts some beautiful stonework (though some has subsided with earth movement) and an elegant stone altar. In this same area is the equally distinctive Three Windowed Temple (3W) with characteristic trapezoidal-shaped windows and superb stonework. Note the rock on the near side as part of the closest window has ten sides, yet fits neatly like the most perfectly formed jigsaw.

100% Pubblica: Initiative to Reduce Bottled Water Consumption

Map of Water Fountains in Venice
As summer sets in, tourists visiting Venice will find fountains feature unexpectedly high on this year’s sightseeing tours as the city council aims to reduce waste in the world’s biggest consumer of mineral water.

A new initiative to cut down on bottled water consumption, called “100% Public,” is being launched today, World Environment Day.

Tourists are being given empty water bottles with the message “Don’t throw me away, re-use me!” and a map indicating the 122 fountains flowing with water from the city’s aqueducts (see below), inviting them to quench their thirst directly from the source.

Ko Lipe, Thailand - One of the Top 10 Best Tropical Islands in the World!

If you ever get a chance to vacation in Thailand, make sure to check out Ko Lipe Island, supposedly one of the best tropical islands in the world.

Located in southern Thailand, this semi-off the map island is one of my favorites. Here the super friendly locals bring in the daily catch for amazing seafood as the island’s water is teeming with life. Accommodation is still basic and most places turn off the electricity around midnight. Bathtub warm water and fine sand beaches kept me here for over three weeks. It will do the same for you.
