Let Insurance Protect your Vacation from Hurricanes

by max on Wednesday, July 15th, 2009

Travel insurance is something many people overlook. And with sudden storms or hurricanes that may come your way, it is best to be protected. Experts at NOAA’s Climate Prediction Center anticipate a near average 2009 Hurricane Season with a 70 percent chance of nine to fourteen named storms and up to three major hurricanes, Category 3 or higher.

This forecast can’t say however where or when these storms will form, which land areas will be impacted or at what intensity. That’s why, as always, the best way to prepare for the June through November hurricane season is to plan ahead.

“For travelers, that plan should include insurance protection for all your upcoming summer vacations, family cruises, and fall travels,” adds Jim Grace, President and CEO of InsureMyTrip.com, the premier online travel insurance comparison site. “Travel insurance is a prudent investment that provides peace-of-mind protection against severe weather. The key is to plan ahead and purchase travel insurance before a tropical storm or hurricane is identified as possibly affecting your itinerary.”
